Rock climbing shoes can be expensive! The soft rubber on the bottom of the shoe (the sole) and the thinner rubber around the toe of the shoe (the rand) take the most abuse and wear down quickly. Instead of throwing the whole pair of shoes in the trash and starting over, you can have your shoes professionally resoled for a fraction of the cost of buying a new pair. Your favorite shoes, broken in specifically to your feet, can be resoled up to 3 times - saving you hundreds of dollars a year!
The half sole covers the ball of your foot from just above the arch to the edge of your toes made from 4 mm rubber. Heel cups are not replaced and usually outlive the life of your shoe.
The rand is a 1.8mm thin rubber that wraps around the toe area of your shoes, beneath the soles edge. Worn out rands can be replaced with a toe cap onlay, or a full/partial inlay.
